Some beauty essentials and tips for summer makeup that you need to fully glow in the sun!
First comes first,
And in this case, that is sunscreen, with at least SPF 15! So before we hit the beach, we want to make sure we protected our face, as sun damage is the main factor for deteriorating skin changes.
To even out your complexion, there are products such as BB and CC creams with SPF, or you can make your own by mixing your moisturizer with a squirt of your foundation or concealer(oil-free are the best for both moisturizer and foundation) and dab it all over your face with a sponge or a brush. The skin can breathe better when you are using tinted moisturizer compared to waterproof foundation. Keep it as natural as possible!
Curl your lashes!
Curling your lashes before applying mascara is a really important step, for me at least it makes all the difference. My by far favorite eyelash curler is the one by Shu Uemura. By lifting your eyelashes your eyes look bigger and happier, and then you need just a bit of waterproof or water-resistant mascara to enhance that look. And yes, there really is a difference between them 🙂 Waterproof formulas are resistant to complete water submersion(read: super smudge-proof) however, they also contain strong chemicals to make this happen causing lashes to become brittle and damaged, and are trickier to remove afterward. While water-resistant formulas won’t withstand a day in the pool, they will resist the moisture caused by sweating or crying. and are gentle on the eyes and easier to remove. Apply on the upper lashes only, as it can smudge on lower lashes even if it is waterproof.
Frame your eyes by lightly feathering in your eyebrows, following your natural shape. You don’t want to use too much as you don’t want to look as you have full face makeup. This NYX eyebrow pencil is flattering for everyone from blondes to brunettes, and the light pink highlighting end is used beneath the arches to lift and brighten.
Lip and Cheek Stain is your best choice for adding some color to your face. Use a brush to dab color and apply it to your cheeks. It lasts longer than powder and cream blushes because formula absorbs right into your skin and also looks natural as if you were naturally blushing.
If you are not tanned yet, use a bit of bronzer to add more color to your face, or so-called sun-kissed glow. I am hyping over this bronzer and its airbrush packaging by Physicians Formula.
You should apply lip balm first, with SPF of course, as your lips need protection too. Especially if you use lip stains as they do not contain as many moisturizing properties as lip glosses and lipsticks. Yo can apply the same tint you used for the cheeks. You can also find lip stain in form of a marker which is easier to apply onto the lips.
One of the best parts of beach beauty look is definitely the hair, volumized and textured by the salt, sun and air creating beautiful, sexy beach waves. You can recreate that look, by getting one of the products like Bamboo Beach Summer Ocean. Spray it all over your hair and let it soak in and then style it by crunching and twisting the hair. Once it’s dry it should give dreamy and natural beachy waves.
At the end, if you want to smell fresh and nice, use body mists as they are only light enough for extensive summer heat.
Don’t forget hat and sunglasses and to have fun being lazy under the sun! <3
